Here in the Politaoke Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently running a series of upgrades in preparation for the 2012 USA and 2013 German Elections. Currently a Tour for 2013 is in the works for Germany, but I am considering maybe trying to do a limited number of shows for the 2012 USA election.

Obama Wins: John McCain recycles NAACP speech for His Concession Speech

Tomorrow I will post an analysis of McCain’s speech to the NAACP on July 16, 2008. There were many portions of his address were essentially repeated in his final address as a candidate for President.

I’m not so sure how I feel about his private address. Making a portion of this speech about Barack Obama being black. I know for many, it is a very important issue, as it is for myself. But I have a sinking feeling that this speech addressed Obama’s success to his being black and not to him being the better candidate.

I want to know if their is anyone comparing past concession speeches to the current ones. Something to think about.

This is a historic time for the United States, but hopefully that speech will be read differently.

Thoughts?

People's Party for Participatory Democracy and the Advancement of Karaoke (PPPDAK)

Mission Statement

The People’s Party for Participatory Democracy and the Advancement of Karaoke (PPPDAK) is an artist-run movement to bring the power of political karaoke to the people who need it most.

Party lines

  • - We believe that the words of our politicians, past and present, belong to everyone and that to speak them is the right, perhaps even the obligation, of all citizens in our contemporary democracy.
  • - The PPPDAK is trans-political and post-partisan.
  • - The PPPDAK is headquartered in the minds, voices and bodies of our participants and audiences. Be it a karaoake bar, cafe, shop or gallery, no space is too small or too large to be a potential forum for the Advancement of Karaoke.
  • - The party could not exist without the performative energies of our participants, audiences and supporters who call our movement into being.
  • - We see a day, in the not too distant future, when the light of political karaoke will be found in every corner of the earth. The PPPDAK is founded on collaboration and welcomes the efforts and support of others in spreading the political karaoke form.
