The New York Times has written a very interesting article and video about John McCain’s issues with delivering speeches from teleprompters. Some comparisons were being made between Barack Obama’s and McCain’s styles going over both strong and weak points of each candidate.

Hmm, not so far of from karaoke, if you ask me!

Yesterday, Hillary Clinton officially endorsed Barack Obama. On Hillary’s site a a place to sign up for the Obama campaign and on Barack’s page is a lovely link to send a personal thank you to Hillary. It’s great that they can “all get along.”

Here in the Politaoke Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently running a series of upgrades in preparation for the 2012 USA and 2013 German Elections. Currently a Tour for 2013 is in the works for Germany, but I am considering maybe trying to do a limited number of shows for the 2012 USA election.

Tomorrow I will post an analysis of McCain’s speech to the NAACP on July 16, 2008. There were many portions of his address were essentially repeated in his final address as a candidate for President.

I’m not so sure how I feel about his private address. Making a portion of this speech about Barack Obama being black. I know for many, it is a very important issue, as it is for myself. But I have a sinking feeling that this speech addressed Obama’s success to his being black and not to him being the better candidate.

I want to know if their is anyone comparing past concession speeches to the current ones. Something to think about.

This is a historic time for the United States, but hopefully that speech will be read differently.

Tomorrow I will be closely watching the Polls and preparing for my Talk at Pacific Northwest College of Art on the 6th. The 2008 election comes to a close, but Politaoke will continue on with new speeches, updates and new forms of delivery, bring the mantra of You for Office across the globe. Dennis, one of the bloggers from Indecision 2008 came out to a special Declare Yourself Politaoke special in St. Paul, MN. Some of the St. Paul Police force stopped by and requested some speeches!

In addition to the shows already scheduled with The UnConvention, Politaoke will do a special set at the request of Declare Yourself, the non-partisan national non-profit which encourages youth to vote tomorrow at Station 4.

Paolo from Echo Park Film Center made a video about Politaoke’s appearance and experience with the KCAL9 news team. You can download the video or click read more to watch it on the site!

Politaoke received Press coverage on KCAL9 evening news for the Echo Park Film Center show. A lovely group of audience participants rocked the house with a lovely selection of speeches but they definitely had one favorite: President George W. Bush.

Politaoke opened well at the Hallwalls with a high level of interest and participation from the audience. Documentation of the event will be released as soon as possible via Flcker and YouTube! Please stay tuned… Also, I have decided to start taking requests about what speeches should be added to the program. Any suggestions? Just add it to comments. The speeches with the most requests will be added to Politaoke’s ever growing Karaoke Menu!
