Join the fun: Now taking Speech Requests!

Did you notice something new about the site lately?

In preparation for the Politaoke show happening at OKFestival on July 15th, we’ve developed a form to allow anyone and everyone to submit speeches to be added into the program. Any speeches submitted before July 12th, we will try to add to the program in time for the show at OKFestival.

Feel free to share the link to submission form far and wide!

Pre-Election Preparations

Here in the Politaoke Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently running a series of upgrades in preparation for the 2012 USA and 2013 German Elections. Currently a Tour for 2013 is in the works for Germany, but I am considering maybe trying to do a limited number of shows for the 2012 USA election.

In the meantime, keep updated with Politaoke by checking us out on Twitter and joining our page on Facebook.

Obama Wins: John McCain recycles NAACP speech for His Concession Speech

Tomorrow I will post an analysis of McCain’s speech to the NAACP on July 16, 2008. There were many portions of his address were essentially repeated in his final address as a candidate for President.

I’m not so sure how I feel about his private address. Making a portion of this speech about Barack Obama being black. I know for many, it is a very important issue, as it is for myself. But I have a sinking feeling that this speech addressed Obama’s success to his being black and not to him being the better candidate.

I want to know if their is anyone comparing past concession speeches to the current ones. Something to think about.

This is a historic time for the United States, but hopefully that speech will be read differently.

Thoughts?

Summer Tour comes to a close

I’d like to thank all the audience and participants in the Politaoke Summer Tour 2008. It was a great ride and I am hoping to bring Politaoke back before the election for a limited engagement before November 4th.

I am heading back to Germany and will also be updating the Tour page of the site as well as adding more images to Flickr and YouTube as well and adding the complete list of speeches and sources of all the speeches that were available on the Summer Tour.

Because of the high level of requests, I may also be adding some more Politaoke gear: T-Shirts, Buttons, and Stickers, please keep coming to the site to check for updates on new event plans!

Thanks for your support!
